Cancer sucks.

Our lives have been turned upside down by this horrible disease. My Dad, who has lived with us for over 9 years, has been diagnosed with colon, and possibly liver cancer. He went in for a colonoscopy last Tuesday and they found a large mass blocking the lower intestine. They scrambled to get an appointment for the surgeon the next day. In the meantime, he came home and due to the anesthesia and not eating, he blacked out, fell, and broke his ankle. He was in such serious pain he did not want to go to the doctor the next day. Amazingly enough, I was able to get him out the door by pulling the car right up to him and helping him. They did surgery on Friday and saw some nasty things on his liver that they took a biopsy on.

He is still in ICU. They put a cast on his foot. They think he will have to endure Chemo. They think he won't have long to live.

I believe that The LORD may have another plan.

As much as I have complained about my Dad over the years, the messes he makes, the showers he never takes enough of, the smoking he can't get enough of, the weight he won't lose....

It doesn't matter.

All I want is my Dad back, in his little room, puttering around making messes in the kitchen that he never cleans up, peeing all over the bathroom because he has no aim, it doesn't matter.

Just come home Dad, we miss and love you.
